Work Schedule: July 6, 2026 — August 14, 2026, M-F, 8:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Salary: $10,000 stipend


Position Summary

The Summer School Coordinator for the Extended School Year (ESY) program is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and daily operation of the district’s ESY program for students with disabilities. The Coordinator ensures that all ESY services are delivered in accordance with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), applicable laws and regulations, and district policies. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a collaborative approach to supporting students, staff, and families.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Oversight & Implementation

  • Coordinate all aspects of the ESY summer school program, including scheduling, student placement, staffing, and service delivery.
  • Ensure instructional and related services align with IEP goals and mandated services.
  • Oversee daily program operations to ensure a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment.

Staff Supervision & Support

  • Supervise ESY instructional staff, related service providers, paraprofessionals, and support personnel.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing guidance regarding program expectations, instructional practices, student needs, and compliance requirements.
  • Address staff concerns, provide feedback, and collaborate with administrators as needed.

Student Support & Behavior Management

  • Monitor student attendance, engagement, and progress throughout the program.
  • Support staff in implementing positive behavioral interventions and IEP-based supports.
  • Respond to student issues, parent concerns, and behavioral incidents in a timely and professional manner.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies related to ESY services.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to attendance, service delivery, staffing, and incidents.
  • Communicate with the Special Education Department regarding program compliance or concerns.

Family & Stakeholder Communication

  • Serve as a point of contact for parents/guardians regarding ESY program questions or concerns.
  • Communicate program expectations, schedules, and updates clearly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with building administrators, transportation, nursing, and related service departments.

Logistics & Operations

  • Ensure program sites are prepared and staffed appropriately each day.
  • Address day-to-day operational challenges to maintain continuity of services.

 

Secretary to the Superintendent

Salary Level: $80,000 — $95,000/year

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

12 Month Position. Must have been canvassed through the civil service eligible list or currently hold the Secretary to the Superintendent title through the Nassau Civil Service Commission.

Performs highly responsible and confidential work as secretary to the Superintendent of Schools; performs related duties as required.

COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES

Under general supervision, the duties require the exercise of independent judgment in performing highly responsible and confidential work as secretary to the Superintendent of Schools.

TYPICAL DUTIES

1. Performs highly responsible and confidential work as secretary to the Superintendent of Schools.

2. Performs keyboard functions; proofreads and performs all associated work necessary to produce finished documents; incorporates subsequent technological changes and upgrades.

3. Prepares agendas; attends and records official minutes of meetings, conferences and hearings.

4. Screens, sorts, reads and routes mail; answers routine correspondence.

5. Sets up and maintains a wide variety of files and confidential records; scans, files and manages electronic documents.

6. Acts as intermediary for the Superintendent; screens, answers and refers telephone calls and visitors; maintains calendar, schedules appointments, makes related arrangements.

7. Compiles data for reports; summarizes data from records.

8. Prepares payrolls, reports personnel changes and maintains personnel records, as required.

9. Serves as office services supervisor, as required.

*TYPICAL ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, terminology and equipment.

2. Extensive knowledge of business English, usage and spelling.

3. Extensive knowledge of keyboard practices.

4. Ability to type at a moderate rate of speed.

5. Ability to supervise subordinate personnel.

6. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

7. Ability to promote and maintain effective public relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school and four years of satisfactory experience in clerical work, at least one year of which shall have been in a supervisory position or a secretarial position.

NOTE: Experience, as outlined above, in excess of four years, may be substituted for high school on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of two years.

  • School building/district experience- Preferred but not required

  • Fingerprint clearance- District will provide information
