GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Performs one or more of a variety of highly skilled maintenance and repair tasks; performs related duties as required.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
Under general supervision, the position requires the use of judgment and skill in performing skilled, journey-level maintenance activities, and the work is reviewed for accuracy and completeness. The position may require the exercise of limited supervision.
TYPICAL DUTIES
* 1. Installs and repairs roofing and siding; performs related mechanical operations.
* 2. Cuts, shapes, and fastens wood and related materials, using power tools; erects building frames, and lays flooring and joists; fabricates wooden articles.
* 3. Inspects and installs lighting fixtures and other electrical equipment.
* 4. Mixes and matches paint; does interior and exterior painting.
* 5. Installs and maintains plumbing fixtures; makes repairs to pipes, and tests for leaks.
* 6. Installs and maintains steam boilers, and repairs and adjusts refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
* 7. Performs cutting and welding operations on iron fences and construction equipment, automotive equipment, heating and plumbing systems, and other tools, machinery, and equipment.
8. Supervises unskilled or semi-skilled personnel assigned to assist in performing maintenance duties, as required.
